Great Smoky Mountains National Park/Cades Cove
Welcoming more than nine million visitors per year, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has 800 miles of hiking trails, 400 miles of horseback riding trails and 700 miles of fishing streams. At Cades Cove, visitors can go back in time, touring 19th century homes, mills and churches that line the 11-mile driving loop. That same loop offers spectacular views of the Smoky Mountains, and, if luck prevails, you'll see the wildlife such as white-tailed deer, black bears, wild turkeys and falcons, among others.

Knoxville/Oak Ridge/Museum of Appalachia
Just minutes away, Knoxville offers art museums, historical tours, the Knoxville Zoo, riverboat tours, the University of Tennessee and much more. Oak Ridge offers the American Museum of Science and Energy and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Nearby is the Museum of Appalachia with historic tours and depictions of life among the early Appalachian pioneers.

Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Sevierville
Filled with entertainment venues, outlet shopping and plenty of amusement rides, the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Sevierville area is home to many famous stars such as Dolly Parton. Enjoy a scenic helicopter tour of the Great Smoky Mountains, or relax in one of the many fine dining establishments. Either way, there's something for everyone.

Cherokee/Asheville, North Carolina
Approximately two hours away lies Cherokee, home to the Oconaluftee Indian Village and Harrah's Casino. In the summer, the "Unto These Hills" theater production tells the story of the Cherokee Indians. Beyond Cherokee is Asheville, North Carolina, which offers visitors the world's largest private dwelling, the Biltmore Estate.

Tuckaleechee Caverns
More than a century ago, the Indians discovered and hid in these caverns. As boys, Bill Vananda and Harry Myers played in and around the mountains and its caves. As they became adults, they remembered these caverns and determined that such awesome and wonderful sights should be opened to the public.
