Cades Cove
Have your group see the most magnificent vistas in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park: Cades Cove is a must! And it's only nine miles from Townsend. Explore log cabins, churches, a mill and cemeteries of the first mountain settlers. See bear, deer, falcons, red fox, wild turkey and other animals. Just don't forget to have one of our local restaurants pack a lunch for your group. Estimated time to tour Cades Cove via motor coach: 2-3 hours. We'll be glad to arrange a step-on guide.

Hayrides
Take the 11 mile one way loop in your coach or be a bit more adventurous and take an old-fashioned hayride. Or take one led by a ranger. Hayrides are available April through October, departing from the Cades Cove Stables for groups of 15 or more, beginning at 10 a.m. Call 865-448-6268 for reservations. $8.00 fee.

Townsend Visitors Center
The Visitors Center offers an excellent overview of Townsend and the Great Smoky Mountains, with plenty of suggestions for activities and day trips. You'll also find a gift shop, travel brochures and rest room facilities.
